Complicated Shirt / Patch Matching

The Man United 1993/95 Black Away kit in Demonstration # 1 was easy to understand as there was only one type of patches that could be applied to it.

However, there are shirts in which more than one kind of patches can be applied and this is where things get trickier.

EXAMPLE 2 - Man United 2003/05 Black Away Kit

As per explained in Demo 1, it is important to know the period this kit was used.

This United kit was used for season 2003/04 & 2004/05.

Patches always reflect the team's standing in the previous season.

To better understand what patches to use for this United Kit, we need to know what was United's league standing for 2002/03 and 2003/04.

As you can see, United finshed Champions in 2002/03 and a third-placed finish for 2003/04.

Therefore, you can both use the Champions Patch & the Regular Patch for the 2003/05 Away Black Kit as it was used continuously over two seasons.

IMPORTANT !!!!! (See Below)

Do note that there was a change in design of patches from 2004/05 onwards.

Therefore, the Champions patch for this shirt should be using the "Barclaycard Premiership" design ( left) as they were Champions in 2002/03, before the change.

while the Regular Patch should be using the "Barclays Premiership" design (left) as this shirt was used in 2004/05 season, after the change.
